Happy new year people! As we enter a new decade, there are certain things that will stick around and certain things that will be on the way out. I was thinking about this earlier today and there are SEVERAL “old technologies” that have/will be replaced and/or rendered obsolete as of 2010. Some of them will stick around for a little while but eventually they will fall by the wayside for newer, more effective means of communication.
- Rolodexes – All my contacts are online now and synced to my phone.
- Floppy Disks - I think I have some important things saved on some of these (who knows where they are exactly) and I will have no way to get them LOL.
- Answering Machines – Helloooo? Voicemail.
- Yellow Pages – Google has replaced this one. I haven’t used a phone book in 7 years.
- Phone Booths - when was the last time you used one of these?? Everyone has a cell phone now.
- Conventional Photography (with film & negatives) – Digital photography, rendering and editing has taken over, even photographers use SLR cameras.
- Land Line Telephones – SO many people I know don’t have one of these and if they do it’s VOIP.
Have a wonderful, happy and safe new year. May you live in prosperity and abundance.
-LF
