Ahhh John Mayer, I have heard strong opinions of him. Either you love him or hate him. Most of the latter stems from his dalliances with women but he is a musician…isn’t he allowed? What other musicians have you known that were the marrying type?? Name one… exactly. He is a musician and a damn good one at that. Maybe he will settle down one day but that’s his business…all I need him to do is keep turning out good music.
If you are not familiar with his work, I would describe it as late 70′s beachy rock with some blues thrown in. A wonderful combination as I love the music from that era. One thing I do like about Mayer is that he is forever the student. He is introducing blues to a whole new generation of fans and young musicians alike and that is always a good thing. This track I Don’t Trust Myself With Loving You has a slowed down relaxed vibe and is a great tune. Actually the first time I heard it, I had it on repeat for at least an hour.
