AT & T’s New Wireless Pre-Paid Data on the Go…

att-lightningAT & T has followed Verizon’s lead (funny with all the your copying me…and my 3G is better than your 3G ads) and introduced what I have been waiting for – a pre-paid broadband plan.  I make no bones about it, I am an AT& T girl, have been for quite some time.  Maybe that’s why they treat me so good, but I have NEVER had a problem, their servuce has always been fine for me.  So of course, I am loyal, the thing is, I have always wanted to have broadband when I traveled.  However, I really can’t justify spending an extra $79 per month when I would only be using it less than 50% of the time.  If I am not using it daily then I am just giving them my money and I DO NOT like that one bit  With this, the plans are targeted directly at netbook and laptop users who find themselves out of WiFi range (that happened to me, remember when I was stranded in West Virginia on the way to Chicago?)

The DataConnect plans exactly mirror Verizon’s pricing, which means you can get 75MB as a “day pass” for $15, 250MB as a weekly deal for $30 (total steal), or a half gig per month for $50.  .  I would most definitely pay for the weekly pass for when I travel so I wouldn’t have to use the hotel wi-fi at $20 per day…that’s a no brainer for sure.
