Okay, I know it’s been a while since I have posted here and I truly apologize but I have been having some drama! First off, I was in Las Vegas for the CosmoProf Conference, had a blast, met some new friends etc etc etc. Then my mother had knee surgery and my sister and her baby were visiting!
In the middle of all that (before Vegas…) I managed to spill red wine all over the front of my iPhone. Yes, the iPhone that I have had since 2007 with absolutely no incident (I am pretty sure I have taken it to bars and the like and nothing had ever happened). The wine spilled on the front and it IMMEDIATELY went dead. The apple came up and began to flash. I totally panicked and jumped on the internet to see what (if anything) could be done. The best answer was the whole bowl of dry rice trick. So I submerged the phone in rice for 3 days and it came back but not so fast, it only worked if it was plugged into a charger. UGH.
Reluctantly, off to the AT&T store I went. I asked the dude behind the counter about the rice thing and get this….he told me that was a good method but if I really wanted to dry it out I should put it in a pillowcase and throw it in the dryer…ARE YOU F*CKING KIDDING ME? No…not doing that. Just give me the $99 3G please, I am certain I qualify for the upgrade (which I did). I got my 3G and went back home. Just for kicks…I put the old 16GB 2G back into the rice, and waited. Much to my surprise, after 4 consecutive days in the dry rice, it came back. The only thing that doesn’t work is the power button. So I am giving that to my envious sister who would love to have an iPhone but can’t justify the expense.
Am I upset that I don’t have 3GS? Not really, the 3G is fine for me…plus we all know they will have an updated version of it in 6 months anyway LOL. I don’t have any music on it yet and since it’s only 8GB, I suspect I will only do a few playlists instead of actual files. It’s way faster than the 2G for sure and it only cost me $99. Woooo! Now if I can just keep it away from the wine…..
