iPhone Love…

iphone3gI must admit, I adore my iPhone. I’m actually not sure how I got along without it before now actually. I am a Blackberry convert and I had that thing tethered to my side at all times. I used to say things like, “the iPhone is stupid, I can’t imagine spending money on something so ridiculous.” Then my girlfriend got one…. “So…“, I said. A guy in my office got one….and I looked over my shoulder at him texting away pretending not to be intrigued or interested in what he was doing. Then it happened, they got rid of the 4GB, kept the 8GB and introduced a 16GB. I started to pay attention. Then in late April of 2007, I marched into the AT&T store and I spent $499 on the 16GB version, I was immediately in love. I unlocked my Blackberry, gave it to my sister and I have never looked back.

Now, this isn’t to say that I haven’t had problems (largely with Apple). I was mad as hell when the 3G came out 6 months after I bought my beloved 16GB (I should have seen that coming though). But I held my tongue because I got a kickass software upgrade that put location based software and a whole bunch of other goodies too.  I was okay with it…..I really was I figured I’d get an upgrade after they worked the kinks out of the 3G.

My iPhone has become part of my daily routine,  I use it for my calendar, my phone book, I blog from it, surf the web from it.  It is my only mobile communication device and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I adore all the apps I use, like Shazam that I use when I hear a song somewhere and don’t know the name of it, or my Social Networking sites like Twitter, Facebook & BrightKite.  I have converted completely to MAC, I even bought a MacBook as a present to myself for my 40th birthday!

The rumblings of a new version of the 3G are on the horizon, so now I am prepared. I am planning to get the 2nd gen of the 3G this summer, it is rumoured that versions ranging from 4GB to 32Gb are coming (I know..bringing back the 4GB?)  It may be a great idea to rope the customers that think iPhone is too expensive as it would have to retail for about $99.  So I continue on my journey with iPhone loving it and hating it every step of the way.  For whatever the reason may be, I am hooked.

I love mine too! I was a convert from Treo after my friend talked me into in from hundreds of miles away. There’s a rumor about a new 2.0 software coming out that’ll let you copy and paste and send SMS messages with pics and a whole lot of other features. I hope it comes out soon.

I just ordered a 32gb white one. I’m so excited, mainly for video but mainly this is the first time I’ve owned anything that held more than 8gb! :)
